Our vision for our properties!!! What we aspire to!
TO SAVE OUR PROPERTIES FROM ANYONE WHO MIGHT SELL IT OFF AND TEAR DOWN THE HOMES.. To save the history and story of the property itself and the lives of the family who resided in them, and to teach others the lessons they learned along the way...
Including how to learn to live in harmonic existance in connection to nature & the earth with the gardens
and with themselves.
To TRANSFORM THE OUTSIDE GARDENS into an edible teaching oasis that people from all of the world will want to come and sit in and rest and rejuvenate in & learn from.
And to have had the WHOLE PROCESS and journey of our lives from how behind we currently are and mentally struggling we are right now to the point of where we are finally functionally and able to thrive in enough abundance of our goals to be able to share it and beyond --- to have this ALL be documented and recorded --- showing and sharing the journey with the world.
On the side, we also want two of the smaller properties that currently has an overabundance of youpon holly to be harvested and a dedicated side business of the estate dedicated to selling the youpon holly products dedicated to it.. These smaller lots are also a place we can build an offstorsge site to us organize and clean the main sites.
One of our goals is to make sure the estates have a dedicated side earning business of selling baby plants of everything it produces.
And maybe a few food items that kiddo dreams of doing.. like his oxymel idea, the bizaree soda idea, or assortment of other ideas he has,
Also in the future, once everything has been set up and organized and the current living generation has had time to get through their obstacles to a state of peaceful thriving .. , the doors of the estate would then become opened up to visitors to the garden and maybe private underground restaurants and maybe even some small bed n breakfast stays to help the estate maintain itself and
And if doable, having Any "employee" or freelance helper getting to earn a small percentage % of the profits they earn from helping out??
Actually , Ideally first 20% of the profits that the estates make from visitors, and or its side businesses will go to paying off any debts the estate has of making sure it has paid off any investors and buying itself out.
35% of the profits distributed to all that helped sell any of its products and helped the businesses run.
((Divvyied out Both as their profits and towards their health medical and wellness benefits.))
And the remaining portion to diveded up for maintenance and upkeep and investing to make sure the taxes and utilities and insurances will always be paid for centuries to come.
Once the estate has paid off its debts and bought itself out from an investors, the estates will then place that money into a trust to either expand or to create a nonprofit to help out other property dreamers who want to accomplish similar goals.
......
Admittingly, these last couple of years, We have been so busy just trying to get through alive each day, ,,,,,, that some days it feels as if if we can barely rmemeber our dream for the property and we are just grateful that we made it to the end of the day with all of us still alive
and still relatively healthy and still in our home
and that we get to lay down in own beds in our own rooms
And just hope that tomorrow the obstacles tomorrow will be easier to handle
And that we will make it through this next day in one piece again
and hope that we made it one inch closer somehow towards our vision, our goal, our dream..
Though to be honest right now it keeps feeling like things keep happening to knick or knock our feet right out from under us
or to make us lose our balance..
Kind of like that scene in some show we saw where the kid was learning how to do a martialarts stance and kept having his feet knocked out from under him and he was told to keep getting back up, but eventually he got so exhausted that even just getting back us sounded exhausting.
Its frustrating bc i am all too aware
how extra finances would allow us to help to regain the ability to go beyond surviving to a state of thriving - something so simple and easy and something that i feel too powerless to be able to obtain bc i am too trapped by such simple obstacles.
The basic dream is rather simple
and i hope it will get carried out whther we survive or not.
Where the properties get saved
(ie prevented from being sold off to anyone who is just going to tear it all down
Ie prevented from being restarted from scratch with someone else's ideas)
and instead put into a protective trust that ensures that the original home and the ideas i want for it always stays there for generations to come.
That way i can both live my life and eventualy whenn the time comes, be able to die at the end of it all with peace.
A greenhouse like structure can be built around it,
new electrical can be put in, the island bar in the kitchen of the del monte can be put on wheels as long as the original cabintry stays)
BUT the essense of the original home must stay
and every object inside the homes (or which is stored outside) must NOT get lost (some may be kept in a warehouse, but the idea is that it will be kept like a mini-archeological site that tells a story -- a story that will be shared)
All of the "stuff" WILL be organized neatly and nicely and even artistically to make it eaiser to tell that story,
The whole piece will be like a museum archeological dig site/art piece.
but it is all to be kept bc it ALL of it tells a story of at least ten lives worth of beings.
When people get to go inside,That will become part of the magic of the place for visitors.. to learn about these people and the lessons these people learned. A mini museum/archeological like site so to speak.
With video and audio documentaries to be attached.
The garden themselves though will become completely transformed into an edible food forest oasis that visitors can come to visit, rest, and rejuvenate in.
In order to accomplish this: 80% of non-edibles wil get sold off (minus at least five of each of the original parent plants so babies can continue to be sold off)
and perennial and non-perennial edible trees will be brought in.
Some of the non-perennials will be grown vertically in aquaponics/hydroponics /aeroponic set ups in an eye appealing way that encourages visitors to be inspired and to want to nibble and explore the gardens.
The food produced will supply the owners & visitors
and will also supply a small underground like style restaurant that will be hosted weekly or monthly in the outdoor gardens.
dinners, lunches & other small paid private events will be hosted in the garden.
A small handful of rabbits/pheasants or quail or birds will be grown on premises and a small vertical corner of crickets for cricket powder will also be grown.
These will be the "pets of the house" minus the queen cat.
The property itself will become relatively self-sustainable.
Producing its own electricity, heat, & water with
1)solar panels,
2)solar water heating,
3) there isnt much wind but a small wind turbine might be nice.
4) A hydrogen powered battery would be more ideal then the lithium powered battery.
5) And also some exercise equipment that can also generate electricity, like we have seen in some of the eco-gyms,
6) with a manual powered washing machine, clothes line
7), a xouple of those soccer balls that can light up a bulb after being kicked around some,
8)some of those gravity powered lightbulbs with the light that turns on as the sandbag goes down to temporarily light up areas
For food:
9)combo solar powered chest freezer/fridge that uses both regular electricity and solar powered
10)some parabolic sun stoves will be made available
11) a long heated rocket stove/couch outside at each property.
12)a cob pizza oven oustide at each property
13) a big wok like lizizqi's
For cleaning
13) an outdoor compostible toilet available at each property
14) an outdoor shower area where the waste water will be kept and given to fruit trees at each property
15) a minimum of two/three mini tall raintanks that are large enough to be cleaned out of necessary at each property.
16) a uv water filter tank
Storage space:
The attic space will have the old dusty blown in cloth insulation taken out and composted and the attic areas will be converted into a storage area mostky/and possible space to sneak away to.
kiddo would like to be involved in the design of the attic space
--- maybe even opened up to the rest of the house (this idea is still being discussed and hotly debated about)
All house pipes WILL become easily accessible and seeable by all, even part of the decor. No more 'hidden' hard reach or hard to acess pipes!!!
(That does not mean getting rid of walls.. just transforming it so it becomes part of it all.)
Imp : Do Not Touch:
in the del monte house trust, it must be stipulated that the The brown walls in the kitchen and den, the mural in the livingroom, and the built-in bookcase in the bedrrom must be kept in original condition over the centuries (with the possible exception of maybe having the mural be allowed to be "touched up" but that is in discussion as we do not want the story of the stains to be lost).
Other areas try to change the basic ifea of the outlay as little as possible, though pipes and electrical may be replaced.
For example, the island bar in the del monte kitchen may become moveable and put on wheels, BUT the original frame etc must be kept.
(The tiles are in discussion. I prefer the original kept, Though i might could be topped off with a clear cover.. also in discussion, the concept of the island being able to have its height be adjustable?)
A zero waste policy will be required by anyone in charge of maintaining the homes.
Anything brought in must be either composted, or be made useable
or saved to become usuable - for example, empty jars used as drinking and water storage.
even if it is for an art project/archeological project.
For example, Plastic wrapping can be cleaned, stored up, and converted into an "art pillow"
For the small underground restaurant: :: organic or sustainably grown dried foods will be bought in bulk, and/or locally produced & stored in chest freezers to be able to last awhile and keep moths and other pests away.
The property will earn money for taxes & upkeep via selling of plants & foods(or such like) & teas & oxymels like products from the gardens,,, also via small events & visitors to the garden who may pick and harvest food direct from the gardens.
The garages can become converted into a B&B style place to be rented out for overnight visitors.
But most importantly the goal is to save & protect the property from others who might take away the dream ..
And to have it kept safe over many multiple generations
(ie if someone invests into this project that NO TIME LIMIT be given with which it will takes this estatento buy itself out from your estate)
The longterm idea is
that the longterm goal of the property is to buy itself out from anyone outside of our direct family, so that eventually it belongs to own ongoing legacy, which is always be accessible for my family & descendents to be able to live in (as long as they dont make any big changes to the inside) (an outer home MAY be built around it, but the original inner home and the story inside must always stay in tact and psssed on from generation to generation as a teaching legacy)
& to always be available for visitors to come and visit and learn from at least once a month.
The trust is also meant to be set up to protect against any descendants who might get it in their heads to sell it. They may live there, but they may not make any visiblenchanges to the original set up.
Any money earned by the property is to go towards paying off any extra ulitilites first& or business license or business exoenses, taxes second, and if any money is leftover, it goes towards protectin itself and buying itself off from any outside owners.
It will also be stipulated that any member of our immediate family and descendents thereof may continue to live here rent free for the remainder of their lives, though they must allow at least 75% of the gardens to be kept with edible/medicinal plants of some kind.
The difficult part will be figuring out how to cover taxes until the properties can produce enough income to sustain itself.
Bc the home will not be producing much (if any) money the first few years
bc we will need to be allowed to have AT LEAST two to three years after grandmothers death to both grieve and to have time to sort through and organize what there is in a very slow Slow completely unrushed non pressured state of being. This is what is most sought after!! & is lf highest priority in determing who will be allowed to help invest in this long term multigenerational vision.
Hopefully during such time, 80% of the non edible plants will get sold off and the new fruit trees/tropical plants trees which take a couple of years to get established anyways will also be getting planted.
The property will be considered bought back after all investor has gotten all their input in + plus a 1.5% interest added per year.
Please continue to maintain the principles of the property --
to be half a museum/archeology story site of this tiny little family
and also half to be a teaching example of permaculture, semi self sustainable living, regenerative gardening and showing all the possibilities of an urban food-forest oasis-haven.
Ideally also a place that artists and bodymind workers would enjoy coming to inspire creativity and rejuvenation of themselves and others.. With guest teachers artists, writers, dancers, bodylisteners, body healers, conflict transformationists , homeschooling teachers, science or soil teachers, etc etc giving small classes in the back yard from time to time
Please make this vision for these properties be a part of your legacy as well!
><♡><><☆><><♡><
Ahh most important detail that i almost left out bc i kind of take it as a given for any project we are involved with.
This whole vision is to be documented and filmed and turned into a documentary. Whoever else invests may stay hidden in terms of not actually ever being published, but on site there are to be timelapse camera watching the changes and transformation to occur.
Ideally there will be a youtube series set up so an investor can look in and watch.
Plus an audience can become inspired to want to come and visit and learn and maybe even take permaculture classes or workshops on site.
AGAIN, any silent investors can and may stay private and out of the limelight... in fact, it is preferred that any silent angel investors stay that way.. silent.
Though they must be okay that there will be a digital memory record kept of all interactions, one) for everyone's safety
And two) bc human brains & memories are fragile, and in one swipe, whole events can disappear. So multiple back ups will be stored so as too keep the integrity & existense of all events alive for as long as possible.
