One of the most FAQ I get asked is why not sell the city land we have and buy a BIGGER piece of land somewhere outside of the city to accomplish our goals like everyone else seems to want to do?
I do hear how others want a single large piece of land outside of the city.
I do know so many people who are interested in doing just that..
I even know of quite a few who succesfully did so. And a few who tried it out and it turned out it wasnt quite for them, and some who keep just to have it but just don't do anything with it. Just have it to have it, though i am sure many all kinds of ideas to begin with.
I know quite well that I am fairly different in my ideas of wanting an assortment of small bits of land INSIDE the city to demonstrate my ideas...
Even if i wasnt so emotionally attached to these particular pieces of land for sentimental family history reasons and for my own history reasons, and for own sanity reasons, id still invest in several different smaller pieces of land inside the city.
To create small little heavenly oasis inside the city.
One of kiddo and my own favorite places was this little tiny lot that held a rose/flowerpark spark in the middle of bustling new york city .. right next to a big city with tons of noise and traffic and people.. but you walk in.. and voila you world was transformed.. and you were in another little world and for a moment you forgot about the noise and the city and were just there alive, being.
I have actually been awed by others that I have come across that have had some fascinating variations to my ideas that various people have done. They have all helped to inspire and reinspire me each time I come across one of them.
I am much more interested in demonstrating my ideas on our family's tiny urban lots rather than on a single big one.. and showing that our ideas CAN be done on such tiny lots, and SHOWING HOW it can be done through our own struggles by sharing it in a video medium.
More specifically, I am far more interested in doing this on land that actually hold some kind of special meaning to me rather than any sort of random hoduck land that holds no meaning to me whatsoever , I want to do this project on the land that connects me to my past, and my family's past.
Each small piece of land hold a very special place in my heart, the smallest pieces were bought by my grandparents when they first came to Houston, and the two very special stories for my own parents with lots of stories and history that got weaved into my own helping to create who my son and I are. Their stories of this land that helped shape us to who we are.. they are what i fight for.
I want to share our family's land story and our story and the evolution of our learning about regenerative symbiotic harmony using our land and using our dialogue about this land and with USING this land as the main tool for sharing this story.
Yes, sure, i like the idea of showcasing how you can take everyday home built in an everyday neighborhoods, both in well-to-do neighborhoods and in not-so-well-to-do neighborhoods that was built to be an everyday neighborhood home.. and show how you can learn to live in a zero waste loop stream symbiotic harmony regenerative way.. in a way that promotes the 3 ethics of Permaculture of Human Care, Earth Care, & Future Care on just your everyday home and in your everday neighborhood, .. but i don't want to do this for just any piece of random land that was just bought just only for the sake of doing this.. i want specifically to do this on a piece of land that holds meaning to me... I want to show the evolution of how we took our past world on this particular piece of land, and tried to slowly learn how to do this despite our in-ability to drive and despite our super slow way of accomplishing every task as we stop to video and photograph everything in our OCD sort of way and despite how afraid we are of people, yet somehow with the help of a couple of investors to get over some of the main initial hurdles, this small mom & her kid & grandma somehow manage to accomplish this.
Can you understand why it is all the more special if done with land that actually holds meaning to us?
And, Some of the main hurdles that we are talking about can be resolved quite simply once the land is saved:
from making sure that we have the necessary tech to overcome and allow us to function..
like a working camera smart phones with decent camera and audio recording feature already prebuilt into it, working laptop, enough battery and storage space, the aircrete machine with which to build the walls to a storage shed (although I would like to also have a small steel quanset and/or the zip-tie-domes
but most importantly, once the driverless cars are on the market, having one of those will actually make this project exceedingly easy to do.. as that is probably the 2nd biggest hindrance to us accomplishing a lot of everythign that needs to be done on our own. (the reason for a driverless car is long and complicated and an explanation for another time, just know that it would make a considerable difference)

after the car & working tech, or even before, another thing that would greatly help us achieve the vision we would like to do is getting the material to make the onsite sheds.
These storage structures that we need to temporarily house items until it all gets sorted through and organized properly to tell the story we wish to tell and while the main homes get gutted and rewired and
later the storage spaces can be used to as minihome spaces for a person to temporarily stay in or maybe even rented out.
storage areas would also ideally be sorted into these main categories to help us sort out and organize the story we will be sharing from the main homes:
excess furniture would be distributed amongst them, but for the most part, these will be the general topics:

1.Music Storage Area
2.History of Clothing Storage Area
3.Extraneous & Old Tech Related Storage Area for the story (computer tech, drone tech, project tech, camera/phone/recording tech)
4. Misc Paperwork Storage Area (this is going to be a very large area)
5. Area for EmptyBoxes/containers/bottles/ packaging materials being saved for HistoryArtProject which can also be used for misc craft/building/garden projects as well.
books and kitchen and any valuables will stay at the main home and will be inventoried.. some of it can be 'rented' out library like style ...
Do you know how an archeolgoical dig site tells the story of the people who were once there on that piece of land? That is essentially what we will be doing like. only in a slightly more organized way....
ps: the two main homes themselves will also need to be rewired and either a permanent or portable commercial kitchen installed before the final part of hosting people and events can be added for the final phase.. but other then funds for the equipment for the commercial kitchen and the fund for outsourcing the rewiring, all the other repairs & conversion will be done mostly by us and will be videod as part of showcasing the transformation...
currently very little is shown on youtube because we are waiting till kiddo is 18 before we start sharing our story a little more openly and outwardly. but once we have a backer, and the funds to safeguard the house.. then we plan on telling our story way more openly.
